Nenagh Men's Shed

Nenagh Men’s Shed was established three years ago and since then has opened its doors to men of all ages who have found themselves at a loose end, looking for something to do, or to just meet up for a chat and a cup of tea. A range of courses is offered to members including woodwork, wood turning and metalwork and will hold a bicycle maintenance workshop soon. In addition, they have helped out with a number of community projects in Nenagh such as the building of a gazebo in the Community Garden and planting trees in the town’s new picnic area.

Speaking about the win, Bryan Sheary of the Nenagh Men’s Shed said, “We’re delighted to be receiving a library under the Donate a Library programme.  We’ve just moved to new premises in order to facilitate our growing membership, and a library will be a fantastic addition to our services.”

Speaking about Donate a Library and in recognition of Nenagh Men’s Shed, Claire Smith from Bord Gáis Energy said, “The work of the Men’s Shed movement and its contribution to communities all over Ireland has been well documented. We are delighted to reward The Nenagh Men’s Shed with this library and hope it brings hours of pleasure to members as they move into their new premises”.
